MAGELLAN joins EDIT, a software publishing Cluster

MAGELLAN joins the cluster EDIT, one of the twelve competitiveness cluster of Rhône-Alpes. It brings together the major regional actors of the software industry.

 Integrated to the regional economic clusters, the cluster EDIT gathers 225 members, 8 administrators from the industry and 4 administrators from superior education and academic research. It is supported by local institution which are implicated in the digital industry (Région Rhône Alpes, Le Grand Lyon and la DRIRE Rhône-Alpes)

 The cluster EDIT aims at federate and link all the different regional actors of the software publishing industry around two missions:

 - To promote Rhône-Alpes’ publishers by creating development tools to help them

 - To reinforce the attractiveness of our territory by insuring competitiveness and effectiveness of the local companies and by positioning the Rhône Alpes region as an european excellence center for softwares.

 The cluster EDIT concentrates its actions on 4 axis:

 - Performance and access to markets: to accompany commercial development of the members

 - International: to facilitate introductions on new foreign markets

 - R&D and Innovation: to promote innovation by reaching new funding ways

- RH & training: to attract talents towards the software publishing industry in Rhône-Alpes and encourage the improvement of competences within the structures.

The industry branch of software publishing in Rhône-Alpes counts today 500 compagnies, representing 9000 jobs, 1/5 of the total amount of jobs in the sector. The global turnover made by all these local companies reaches 850 M€.
